EAA Chapter 643, based in Pittstown, NJ - Hunterdon County, a local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association, invites you to consider joining us.

Chapter 643 is an active group of aviation enthusiasts who enjoy building, restoring, and maintaining aircraft and of course, flying places in them! The chapter is made up primarily of pilots from the Central New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania area. The broad range of expertise in our chapter includes fabric, metal and composite airframe construction, as well as power plant, electrical and avionics. Being a pilot, owner, or builder of an aircraft is not a prerequisite for membership.

Chapter 643 member-owned aircraft that are being built or flown by current members include: Vans RVs, Glasairs, Rans, Murphy, and others. Several of our member’s aircraft have received awards including the prestigious Oshkosh Grand Champion. Other members have restored or are restoring vintage and contemporary production aircraft such as Aeroncas, Pipers, Cessnas, Navions and others. Our members come from the civilian, military, and airline pilot ranks and we have members who are A&P mechanics, repairmen, technical counselors, flight advisors, and certificated flight instructors. Some of our members have flown around the world in their homebuilt and general aviation aircraft and one member has done it twice!

Chapter 643 meetings are usually held at Sky Manor Airport each third Monday of the month at 7PM. Other times we meet at the hangar or home of a local member who has a project in progress. Meetings generally consist of a short business session, followed by technical presentations on aircraft construction or maintenance, fly-out destinations, and other topics of general interest. The balance of the meeting is generally spent going over the host member’s project. In addition to our monthly meetings, fly-outs, and non-flying social activities are planned throughout the year.

Chapter 643 also has an active Young Eagles program where members can volunteer their time to introduce young people to aviation.

For information on joining EAA Chapter 643, please see our contacts page.  If you're interested in aviation, consider stopping by at one of our events. One does not have to be a pilot, aircraft owner or builder to be a member.  Everyone is welcome.
